This service is for companies that need a van and a driver without pulling someone off their own work to drive. Our customers include wholesalers, construction and HVAC firms, event organisers, offices and haulage companies missing a vehicle or a driver on a given day. The driver is FLF's own employee, knows the area and helps with loading and unloading as agreed.
We operate in Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa from our depot at Ormuspellontie in Malmi, and in Lahti and Päijät-Häme from Asentajankatu. Hämeenlinna, Hyvinkää and Riihimäki are within reach of both depots. The fleet runs from a standard van to a high-roof van and a 7.5-tonne electric lorry, so the same order works for ten roll cages or twelve pallets.
Pricing depends on vehicle class, the length of the booking and whether it is a one-off or a recurring need. Hourly rates suit transfers of a few hours, daily rates suit exhibition and relocation days, and contract pricing suits a weekly rhythm with the same driver every time. Prices for businesses are quoted excluding VAT, and you will normally have a quote the same working day.

When you need a van and a driver
The most common situations in which our customers book a vehicle and driver instead of arranging transport themselves.
Peak periods
A campaign, a stocktake or a season brings more deliveries than your own van can handle. An extra vehicle and driver for a day or a week.
Cover
Your driver is on holiday or off sick, but deliveries will not wait. Our driver runs the shift in our vehicle or in yours.
Projects and sites
Material deliveries to a construction site, equipment moves and supplies for an installation crew on an agreed rhythm for the length of the project.
Exhibitions and events
Stand structures to Messukeskus and back, event technology moves and dismantling-day transport in one order.
Moves between premises

Van

Tail lift
When the unloading point has no dock and no forklift. Pallets, machines and heavy equipment come down safely.

Lorry with driver
When the load will not fit in a van, you book a lorry with driver on the same principle. We offer a 7.5-tonne fully electric Fuso eCanter for urban distribution and terminal shuttles, and an 18-tonne lorry for pallet freight and longer runs. The drivers hold the professional lorry driver qualification and are experienced with loading docks, tail lifts and load securing.
A lorry is normally booked for at least a day, because loading and unloading take time of their own. Tell us in advance the number and weight of pallets, the conditions at the unloading point and whether a tail lift is needed, so the vehicle and driver are right the first time. Securing the load is the driver's responsibility; packing and palletising are the customer's.
Pricing: hourly, daily or contract
The same vehicle and driver are priced in three ways depending on how long and how often they are needed.
Hourly rate
Transfers and collections of a few hours. A minimum charge is agreed at booking, and time runs from leaving the depot until return.
Daily rate
Exhibition days, moves and site deliveries where the vehicle is in use all day. A fixed price with no surprises.
Contract price
A weekly or daily standing need. Same driver, same vehicle, monthly invoice and priority access to vehicles at busy times.
Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa
Orders in the Helsinki region are driven from our Malmi depot on Ormuspellontie, a short hop from Ring I and the Lahti motorway. The most common destinations are Vuosaari harbour for container freight and import consignments, Aviapolis and the airport cargo area in Vantaa, and Länsisatama when a consignment continues by ship to Tallinn or arrives from there. We deliver stand structures and technology to Messukeskus in Pasila on build-up and dismantling days.
In Espoo we serve the office clusters in Keilaniemi and Leppävaara and the logistics estates along Ring III. For urban distribution we favour the electric lorry, which is quiet in the early morning and permitted on restricted city-centre streets. Our drivers know the loading docks and service yards, so no time is lost searching.
Lahti and Päijät-Häme
In Lahti the vehicle and driver leave from our Asentajankatu depot. We drive daily to Lahti's industrial estates, around Matkakeskus and Sibeliustalo, and to Isku Areena and Urheilukeskus on event build-up and dismantling days. Heinola and Vierumäki are part of our normal area, as are Orimattila and Hollola.
We drive between Lahti and Helsinki every day, so a combined order in which the vehicle collects in Lahti and delivers to the Helsinki region, or the reverse, works without a separate positioning run. Lahti to Helsinki is about 110 kilometres and takes between one and one and a half hours.
Hämeenlinna, Hyvinkää and Riihimäki
The towns along the main railway line are served from either the Helsinki or the Lahti depot, whichever is closer. In Hämeenlinna we deliver around the railway station and Verkatehdas, to events at Aulanko and to the town's industrial estates. In Hyvinkää the usual destinations are the station area and Sveitsi; in Riihimäki the station and the garrison area.
Kanta-Häme orders are often combined with Helsinki-region runs: the vehicle brings a load from Hyvinkää or Riihimäki to Helsinki and returns with another. If you mention both directions in your request, the price is usually lower than for two separate orders.

Pricing
The price is based on vehicle class, the time booked and how often the service recurs. On hourly rates time runs from leaving the depot until return, the daily rate is fixed, and contract pricing is agreed according to the weekly need. The driver's help with loading is included at the agreed level. Businesses are quoted excluding VAT.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a van with driver cost per hour?
The hourly rate depends on the vehicle class and on whether it is a one-off or a contract. The price includes the vehicle, driver, fuel and insurance, and time runs from leaving the depot until return. We do not publish a list price because a van and a 7.5-tonne lorry are priced differently. Request a quote and you will normally have an hourly rate, excluding VAT, the same working day.
Does the driver help with loading?
Yes, at the agreed level. The driver loads and unloads the vehicle, operates the tail lift and moves roll cages and pallets to the dock or the door. Carrying heavy equipment up stairs or dismantling furniture is not part of the transport without a separate agreement. Tell us in your request what help you need, so we book enough time and, if necessary, a second person.
Is there a minimum charge?
Hourly bookings carry a minimum charge, because the vehicle and driver are reserved for your order and the positioning run from the depot takes time. The length of the minimum is agreed at booking and depends on vehicle class and distance. Daily and contract prices need no minimum because the price is fixed. For a short transfer within the Helsinki region, the hourly rate is still usually the cheapest option.
Can we be invoiced as a business?
Yes. We invoice businesses, and prices are quoted excluding VAT. A one-off order is invoiced after the run; contract customers receive a consolidated monthly invoice itemised by driving day. E-invoicing is available when you give your invoicing address at booking. The driver does not take cash or card payments, so every order is confirmed in the company's name.
Can I book for the same day?
Often, yes. A single van run can frequently be done the same or the next day if a vehicle is free. Call 050 410 2021 and we will check availability straight away. Lorries and full-day bookings are best ordered a few days ahead, and contract customers have priority access to vehicles at busy times.
How big is the van?
A standard van takes several roll cages or a few pallets; a high-roof van takes considerably more light freight thanks to its tall, box-shaped load space. When the load is heavy or there are around ten pallets, we propose the 7.5-tonne lorry. Give the number, dimensions and weight of the pallets in your request and we will match the vehicle to the load.
Can the driver drive our own vehicle?
